NSHS Students are currently competing as follows:
Aidan Bassett - Semi-finals in OO (one more round to go) Ben Silvian & Malcolm Davis - Round 11 of PFD (about 30 teams are left) Shira Abramovich - just finished round 3 of Poetry Isabella Xie - just finished round 3 of Prose James, Jason & Winson - are all currently in round 3 of Extemporaneous Debate We waited for postings at the Galivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City this evening. There was live music, lots of food trucks and other entertainment at the 'party'. After Octas, only Aidan Bassett (OO) and Ben Silvian & Malcolm Davis (PFD) are still in main events. Everyone else will start to compete in their supplementary events tomorrow morning. After dinner at a Greek restaurant called Padelis Street Greek, we went back to the hotel. Some went right to sleep and others worked on preparing for tomorrow's competition. We begin again at 7:00 am.
We went out to lunch at Noodles & Company to get off campus for a little while. Everyone was anxious about postings, but we were hungry, too!
Last night the New England District had dinner at Ruth's Diner. It was nice to join our friends from other schools in the New England District for a meal in the foothills of the Mountains! Thanks to Mr. Rischitelli, our District Chair, for organizing the event!
The schools where the students are competing today are surrounded by magnificent mountain views. We're definitely not in Massachusetts any more!
After a LONG day of travel on Saturday, we arrived at our hotel in Salt Lake City and ventured out for dinner. At the mall across from the hotel, there are wonderful water elements, including this fountain. The team enjoyed dodging the water jets!
